MUSES OF MY MIND
Poetry is a great escape for many artists and writers. For me, it's the equivalent of someone's coffeehouse napkin doodle. It's the pure moment of self, almost a memory, but it's new and exciting again.
My first official poem was written near the night of Jan 9, 2003 in the guest bed of my new home in England. Having just flown from LA, my jetlagged midnight mind cooked up this storm:
"The London Eye is the one that is the one that is good enough for me." ––a mere quote from Little Renie's "The London Eye" (Yes, your eyes aren't tricking you...in case you were wondering!)
With help from professors at SJSU, I crept away from the rhymes and rhythms, and stepped lightly into the world of Ekphrastic poems and Shakespearean sonnets.
Oh, what a wonderful world it is...
NOT EXACTLY FICTION
Explore, below, a collection of non-fiction essays. Some for class, some for personal musing. There has long been a debate in the writing community about the true meaning of "non-fiction". Some say if you change even the name of a character, it should be considered fiction. I believe....that's total bogus. But for the sake of being a neutral party, I will leave them in their rightful place:
"Not Exactly Fiction", or not exactly fake.
IRENE NOTICES MOST
I started a Medium blog to force myself to create, especially while I'm in between clients. I decided to go under a pseudonym (that actually spells my whole name). Seriously, go take a look... Scroll down to view the live blog and, if you so dare, give me a follow!
